The Huawei Mate 10 Pro was announced for a US release at CES in Las Vegas last week, but the news was a bit muted when no partnership with a US wireless carrier was revealed. Statements indicate that US lawmakers may have influenced AT&T’s decision to carry the phone.
This week we see there is a new bill being introduced in Congress to ban US government agencies from using phones and other telecommunications equipment from Huawei and ZTE.
Given these concerns with Chinese companies and the fact that phones from Huawei, ZTE, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Motorola, TCL, Apple, and others are made in China, we wanted to see what other options people may have for phones made outside of China.
I’ll continue to use all sorts of mobile phones until there is evidence to concern me, but there are some great options made in South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan as well.
